Capital's Hartford Heritage Project and UConn's Democracy & Dialogues Initiative, part of Dodd Human Rights Impact Programs, invite you to participate in Encounters: Democracy in Black. This community dialog will derive from Democracy in Black: How Race Still Enslaves the American Soul by Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr., this year’s Pennington Lecture speaker.  Read more about the book Henry Louis Gates calls “a brilliant and crucial prescription for necessary change” here on the Penguin website.
