Connecticut Museum
Located at One Elizabeth Street in Hartford, the Connecticut Museum houses a museum, library, and the Edgar F. Waterman Research Center that are open to the public and funded by private contributions. The Connecticut Museum’s collection includes more than 4 million manuscripts, graphics, books, artifacts, and other historical materials accessible at our campus and on loan at other organizations.

Across the street from the Mark Twain House, HartBeat Ensemble offers audiences live performance and guided conversations. Education Programs (Youth Play Institute, Startin’ Drama, and more) teach conflict resolution, civic engagement, and deeper learning. Hartford History Center
at Hartford Public Library
Located on the 3rd floor of the Hartford Public Library at 500 Main Street, the Hartford History Center is a great resource for research projects on Hartford topics and for class visits. Access online resources or book an in-person research appointment via the HHC website. Faculty who wish to design projects or arrange class visits should contact the center for assistance.

TheaterWorks Hartford
TheaterWorks Hartford (TWH) produces high quality, contemporary theater and is committed to the power of storytelling in creating community. Founded in 1985, TWH has produced nearly 200 plays and presents approximately 150 performances per season. TWH also owns and manages the historic property at 233 Pearl Street, known as City Arts on Pearl. TheaterWorks presents thought-provoking plays in a small intimate space with 184 seats, only 8 rows back in any direction. *ALL-FREE rush tickets available at the theater 45 minutes prior to performance or call the Box Office at 860-527-7838 and reserve ahead.
