Rope
The riveting crime thriller that inspired Alfred Hitchcock and Jimmy Stewart in 1948 gets a tantalizing new adaptation from playwright Jeffrey Hatcher (Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde). A murder has been committed, and the two killers host a dinner party in the very room where the victim’s body is hidden. Drunk on arrogance, they claim it is the “perfect murder” and believe getting caught is impossible. But tension builds as cracks begin to appear and audiences are whisked from one moment of suspense to the next. Are the murderers’ slips unconscious or something more sinister? This must-see for fans of thrillers and crime dramas will captivate anyone who has ever been tempted to get away with something.

About One Play

One Play is a partnership with Hartford Stage that enables Capital to bring theatre into the classroom and students into the theatre, across a variety of disciplines. Staff and Faculty are included, making this a campus-wide event! We focus on one play in the Hartford Stage season in the fall semester, and another in the spring semester, and we bring the actors to campus for a Meet the Actors event.  Invite a friend or family member - go on a special date night - have fun with classmates and colleagues - be part of the conversation!

I truly enjoyed the stage production of Pride and Prejudice. I am planning on seeing it again. I loved the comedic and playful aspects of the play as well as the diverse cast. I can’t wait for the rest of Hartford Stage's seasons!
