About the Event

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Here are just a few of their stories.

The Bood Donation Process

The blood donation process from the time you arrive until the time you leave takes about an hour. The donation itself is only about 8-10 minutes on average.

Am I Eligible to Donate Blood?

Are you eligible for blood donation? Find out about the eligibility requirements to donate blood today. Learn about general health, travel, medications, tattoos, and more. Learn more about blood donation eligibility here.

Did you know? HHP and Nursing have had a partnership since 2011 with visits to the Isham Terry House (spring semester, first-year nursing students) and the Wadsworth Atheneum (spring semester, second-year students) built into the CT-CCNP (CT Communitu College Nursing Program) at CT State Capital. Learn more about Nursing HHP-style here.

Brought to you by the Hartford Heritage Project in partnership with Hartford Stage, Capital's Arthur C. Banks, Jr. Library, Nursing Department, Art and Theater Programs, and Student Activities.
